The Humanity Award, an initiative of Humanity Magazine International, is routinely conferred on individuals who have distinguished themselves in public and private spheres of life.
The reformer, has progressively helped usher a market-oriented economy, which has no doubt improved the livelihoods of the citizenry.
His great efforts was encouraging the entrance of new political parties and overseeing Congo’s widest free, transparent and fair elections in 1992. In fact,his respect for democracy was received with historic praise across the globe when he peaceful step down as president and concede defeat to Pascal Lissouba, who became the new democratically elected president of the Republic of Congo.
A milestone development, which helped shaped the continent’s transfer of power from one political group to the other.
The CEO of Humanity Magazine International, Mr. Yahaya Alhassan, considers Congo to be Ghana’s friend and neighbor. And works of their leader deserves commendation for building on the foundations for a better Africa.

It further reads “ . You have cherished and campaigned for the unity of Africa, May God Enrich you with more health and Happiness, Amen ’’.
President NGUESSO desire for peace and unity saw his initiated process of transition and reconciliation, He granted amnesty to former militia fighters, brought political opponents into his cabinet and began programs for the economic development of war affected regions.
A member of the Mbochi tribe, Sassou Nguesso was born in Edou in the Oyo district in northern Congo in 1943. He received primary education in Fort Rousset, now Owando. He studied in Dolisie Normal College between 1956 and 1960. Joined the army in 1960 just before the country was granted independence. He was marked for prominence and received military training in Algeria. In 1962, he returned to Congo and was reassigned to active officers with the rank of second lieutenant. He also received military training in Saint Maixent, France, graduating with the rank of lieutenant, before returning to join Congo's elite paratroop regiment. He was one of the first officers of the Airborne Group, the first paratroop battalion of the Congolese Army, which was created in 1965. He commanded the Airborne Group, the army and the Brazzaville Military Zone (ZAB), then headed the Intelligence department of the State Security Services. He became captain, then commander, and was promoted to colonel (1978) and later as army general (1989), despite his rich military background, he is well-known for his democratic credentials
